Legal Administrator, Galashiels

Full-time/Residential Conveyancing/Galashiels

The starting salary is £22,932 per annum and will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

We have an immediate opportunity for a legal administrator to join the Residential Conveyancing team in our Galashiels branch.  This is a full-time, permanent position.  The hours are 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.  Full training will be provided and there may be potential for career progression.

You will be assisting in our busy Residential Conveyancing team supporting fee earners with clients’ instructions, dealing with missives, dealing with aspects of the conveyancing process in purchases, sales, remortgages and discharges, and completing LBTT and the Registration process.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience of the Scottish conveyancing process;
  • Work well in both a team and on their own;
  • Be computer literate in all Microsoft Office programs;
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Have strong organisational skills;
  • Be familiar with electronic document management and filing systems;
  • Have a high level of discretion with confidential matters;
  • Have strong attention to detail and research skills;
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude, and the ability to work well as part of a team.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Digital dictation;
  • Creating and amending documents;
  • Typing and correspondence;
  • Scanning documents;
  • General file management;
  • Booking and co-ordination of meetings;
  • Opening and closing case files;
  • Handling telephone enquiries.
