Legal Administrator, Galashiels
Full-time / Private Client / Galashiels
We have an immediate opportunity for a Legal Administrator to join our Private Client team in Galashiels. This is a full-time, permanent, office-based position. Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Full training will be provided, and there may be potential for career progression.
You will be working in our busy Private Client Department, supporting our paralegals and solicitors with their work, which includes dealing with executries, the preparation of Wills, and the management of Powers of Attorney. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with sound numeracy skills.
The ideal candidate will have:

- The ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently
- The ability to support multiple team members and manage competing priorities
- Good organisational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in word processing and IT systems; a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with LawWare would be an advantage
- Good attention to detail, including spelling and grammar
- The ability to produce accurately typed and formatted documentation, including forms
- A willingness to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Confidence when dealing with client enquiries and good telephone skills
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well within a team
Key duties include (but are not limited to):
- Typing digital dictation
- Creating and amending documents, including Excel spreadsheets
- Scanning and filing documents
- General file management
- Booking and coordinating meetings
- Opening and closing case files
- Handling telephone enquiries and making calls on behalf of paralegals and solicitors
- Opening and distributing post
- Assisting in the smooth running of the Private Client team
Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary is £22,932 per annum and will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
