Cullen Kilshaw is a leading law firm with offices throughout the South of Scotland and East Lothian, providing a wide range of legal services to individuals, families and businesses.

We are currently seeking a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Receptionist / Office Administrator to join our Court Team based in Galashiels.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous customer service, reception or administrative experience who is looking to develop their career within a professional office environment. Full training will be provided in our systems and procedures.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing reception and general office support, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Answering incoming telephone calls and directing enquiries appropriately.
  • Providing a professional and welcoming first point of contact for clients and callers.
  • Assisting with the management of the Court Team inbox and new enquiries.
  • Supporting fee earners with diary management and administrative tasks.
  • Scanning, copying, filing and distributing documents.
  • Assisting with the preparation of paperwork, including Adults with Incapacity (AWI) documentation.
  • Carrying out general office duties and administrative tasks.
  • Liaising between offices and assisting with the transfer of information and documents as required.
  • Checking files and ensuring matters requiring attention are brought to the appropriate person’s attention.
  • Assisting with digital dictation and document production as experience develops.
  • Providing support to colleagues across the Court Team as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a positive, professional and friendly manner.
  • Enjoys working with people and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Is organised and able to manage a variety of tasks.
  • Has good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Is keen to learn and develop new skills.
  • Has good attention to detail.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and general computer systems.
  • Works well as part of a team.
  • Has previous reception, retail, customer service or office experience.

No legal experience is required, although it would be advantageous.
