Residential Conveyancing Paralegal

We have an opportunity for a paralegal to take on a role within our residential conveyancing team. The job is based in our Galashiels office.
Purpose of Role
To support the residential conveyancing team by managing transactions and administrative processes, ensuring efficient case progression and excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with and manage residential conveyancing files, including:
– Preparing and submitting offers
– Drafting conveyancing documentation
– Ordering and reviewing searches
– Dealing with title deeds and reports - Maintain regular communication with clients, lenders, and third parties
- Progress files in line with agreed timescales
- Update case management systems and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with AML and regulatory requirements
- Handle post-settlement work including registration and LBTT submissions
- Provide administrative support to solicitors as required
Person Specification
Essential
- Relevant paralegal qualification (or equivalent experience in conveyancing)
- Experience working in residential conveyancing in Scotland
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience managing files with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Registers of Scotland processes
- Knowledge of LBTT submissions
